Dr. Milo Hemp Packaging Adds Some Playfulness To The Pain Relief Aisle -DIELINE ARTICLE

by Chloe Gordon on 06/09/2022 | 3 Minute Read

Dr. Milo is a pain relief serum with packaging that’s much more lighthearted than the purpose behind the brand. Through bright red, lively typography, and an aluminum tube, the brand’s packaging beautifully balances an approachable attitude that’s also highly trustworthy and restorative. While the design is simple, it certainly has a playful side creating standout packaging in a sea of dull medical designs.

Our target was to create a more fun pain relief tube with a 70’s vibe for the older generation while staying poppy and fun. Our primary stacked logo is a custom font, our wave design was inspired by an australian psychedelic rock band and the bright red poppy brand color was inspired by the red cross to convey healing. We’re apart of 1% for the planet, and give back to Regeneration International to promote regenerative farming practices which is great for hemp farmers in America. We’re a Woman owned, family operated, hemp business.

Created by a team of sister, brother, and dad; Joan, David, and Milo. We initially shared Dr. Milo with friends and family seeking an all-natural, safer solution to curing everyday aches and pains and helping loved ones cope with chronic pain. We now get to share this product with the world, and we’re pretty excited about that. Several years ago, our Mom, and wife respectively, was diagnosed with an auto-immune disease, making her live with chronic debilitating pain.

We sourced our top to bottom sustainable packaging in Germany where we found one of the very few companies in the world using a lined aluminum tube. Aluminum is one of the most recyclable materials. Our box is made of recycled cardboard boxes. We then worked with Mac & Roni Creative out of NY to fully design our tube, logo and secondary patterns. Our flower pattern is actually the ARNICA MONTANA flower- a main ingredient in our Relief Lotion.

We wanted to create a product and be a part of her healing journey to find less toxic solutions for pain management. We started with the idea that we could offer something as an alternative solution to pain management. We combined our background in holistic, herbal healing with the advent of the legalization of hemp. Dr. Milo began in our home kitchen; with lots of messy potion experimentation and after its initial success, we decided to form a company. Our company standard was to distribute a product for others seeking a more pain-free life while using the whole plant, all-natural ingredients.

Dr. Milo has since grown and is produced in California, and you can now find us in multiple U.S. locations. We’ve also continued experimenting and are seeking to make more products that offer some peace for your aches and love for your pains.

The History of 4:20 and How to Celebrate with Hemp

4:20 has been celebrated by cannabis enthusiasts around the world for decades. But what exactly is 4:20 and how can you celebrate it? This blog post will explore the history of 4:20 and explain how you can use hemp products to commemorate this special day.

The Origins of 4:20

The exact origins of 4/20 are a bit hazy, but some theories have more credence than others. One popular theory suggests that the term originated in 1971 in San Rafael, California at a high school called San Rafael High School. The story goes that a group of five friends known as the “Waldos” coined the phrase after meeting up every day at 4:20 PM near a sculpture of Louis Pasteur on campus to search for an abandoned cannabis crop. Although they never found the crop, they adopted “420” as their code word for smoking pot.

Another theory…

This theory claims that 420 was first used by police officers in California as code for marijuana-related activities. However, there’s no way to confirm this story since it’s mainly based on hearsay and anecdotal evidence.

Celebrating With Hemp Products

4/20 is now widely celebrated around the world by cannabis enthusiasts who use this day to gather with friends and indulge in their favorite pastime. To make your celebration extra special, why not add some hemp products into the mix? Such as… our Dr. Milo Topical Relief Lotion. Ways to Beat the Winter Blues with Cannabis Hemp

The winter blues can be a difficult time for many of us. With the cold weather and shorter days, our moods can often become affected, leading to feelings of isolation and depression. Luckily, there are ways to beat this seasonal slump using cannabis hemp. Here’s how cannabis hemp can help you stay positive and vibrant during the winter months.

Cannabis Hemp as an Anti-Depressant

Cannabis hemp contains compounds known as cannabinoids or CBDs which act on brain receptors that control mood and emotion. Studies have shown that CBD has antidepressant effects due to its ability to increase serotonin levels in the brain. This helps to reduce feelings of anxiety, depression and stress while improving overall wellbeing. It also has anti-inflammatory properties which can help improve physical health as well as mental health. Additionally, when used in conjunction with other treatments such as cognitive behavioral therapy or lifestyle changes, it can be highly effective in managing symptoms of depression.

Bolstering Immunity with Cannabis Hemp

The cold weather is often accompanied by illnesses such as colds and flu due to weakened immunity systems caused by lower temperatures and lack of sunlight. However, cannabis hemp may be able to help bolster your immune system during winter months thanks to its antioxidant properties. These antioxidants fight off free radicals which cause cell damage and weaken your immune system over time. In addition, cannabis hemp has anti-inflammatory properties that can help reduce inflammation caused by respiratory illnesses like asthma or bronchitis – ailments particularly common during the colder months.

Improving Sleep Quality with Cannabis Hemp

The shorter days and dark evenings associated with winter can often disrupt our sleeping patterns, leaving us feeling tired throughout the day and unable to focus on work or other important tasks. Fortunately, cannabis hemp may be able to help improve sleep quality during these colder months thanks to its sedative effects on both the body and mind. This helps relax muscles, reducing physical tension which often leads to better sleep quality overall. Additionally, it helps regulate hormones such as cortisol which promote relaxation and improved moods – two more factors that will lead towards better sleep quality at night.

Dr. Milo is here to tell you- Winter doesn’t have to mean feeling down in the dumps; it could mean taking proactive steps towards maintaining good mental health with cannabis hemp. From acting as an antidepressant- thanks to its ability to increase serotonin levels in the brain, bolstering immunity from seasonal illnesses through its antioxidant properties, or even improving sleep quality due to its sedative effects – there are a variety of ways in which cannabis hemp could benefit customers during this colder season! Take proactive steps towards beating those winter blues today by trying Dr. Milo’s Topical Relief Lotion. It penetrates into your endocannabinoid system esp. when applied to neural-receptors, such as the insides of your wrists and temples.

3 SOLID Self Care Tips for 2023

In all honesty, we’re writing on this subject because it something we feel not only is relatable, but something we seem to be struggling with currently while juggling family life, the dr. milo business, staying healthy, taking time for ourselves while holding it all together. If this resonates then keep reading for some semblance of it all or at least some sort of self- hug.

Self Care Tip #1

First off, You’re doing great. You’re reading this, therefore you’re interesting in bettering your life and hence, lives around you.  Let’s start with some positive self talk. Positive self talk should be something we actually feel so that it doesn’t feel forced or contrite. Are you proud of yourself for showering today? Then hell yeah! Be proud of that and let that sink in. Pick 3 things that are highlights of your life right now. Now, thinking about all those things, let’s just take big breath to cleanse, and head onward to this reading and the moments ahead.

Self Care Tip #2

Taking time for ourselves can be momentary. Don’t have an hour for a yoga class? Literally, don’t sweat it. While studying kinesiology and massage, we learned that taking just 2 min./day to lay on our backs with feet up the wall not only resets the spine adding synovial fluid back into the cartlidges but it resets our mind as well. Our spine craves rest to recover all the fluid that is naturally used throughout the day. If we lay, just for 2 min the synovial fluid (thick fluid between your joints) This fluid cushions the ends of bones and reduces friction when you move your joints. Synovial fluid then gets it’s chance to replenish in our bodies giving our spines fluidity and a supple healing to move forward with our days.

Self care tip #3

Stop listening to others and taking it as bible or what may be true for you. For us, this automatically leads to comparing. Your healing process will be vastly different from a friend the same age, health and size. Because no two are alike in a beautiful way, our minds are so incredibly different. A lot of a healing process starts with our minds so to think that your trajectory or outcome will be the same as someone else’s is just putting limits on beliefs of what you’re capable of. We’re capable of healing ourselves. It just takes some tuning INWARD.

*And of course, we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention… go rub some Dr. Milo Topical Relief on.
